Captain Samuel Kim is the Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies and Recruiting Officer at Air Force ROTC Detachment 485, Rutgers University, New Jersey. He is responsible for the development, management, and execution of all unit recruiting efforts for 11 colleges and universities.

Captain Kim entered the Air Force in May 2020 through ROTC from Columbia University. He started his career as a Gold Bar Diversity Recruiter and then completed intelligence officer training in May 2022. Since then, Captain Kim has served in a variety of leadership positions related to intelligence collection, analysis, and production. He has also supported multiple multinational command post exercises in Korea and Hawaii, providing 24/7 intelligence and threat warning for senior leaders at the Numbered Air Force, Sub-Unified Command, and Major Command levels. Prior to his current position, Captain Kim was the Senior Intelligence Duty Officer, 607th Air Operations Center, Osan Air Base, South Korea.

Captain Kim is a Language Enabled Airman Program (LEAP) scholar, with formal language training in Korean and Mandarin Chinese.
