🩺 Complete Medical Actions 🩺Applicants must demonstrate physical readiness for the challenges of Air Force ROTC and future military service. A key requirement is passing a medical examination conducted by a military doctor or an approved civilian contractor. This examination is overseen and reviewed by the Department of Defense Medical Examination Review Board (DoDMERB). After completing your enrollment session, the Detachment will automatically begin the medical clearance process. The Det 485 NCOIC - Administration Management will provide instructions for scheduling your physical and optometry appointments. Cadets must achieve DoDMERB qualification to attend field training and advance in the program. To avoid delays, it is strongly recommended to complete all medical requirements as soon as possible, especially if you have a history of medical conditions. Note: Certain medical conditions may disqualify you from military service. However, waivers can be granted in specific cases. For example, conditions such as asthma, ADHD, or eczema may be considered if they are mild, resolved, and well-documented. Each situation is evaluated individually based on the condition’s stability, treatment history, and current impact on functionality. Please refer to the following guide for more information on specific common disqualifying diagnoses. |
💪 Work Out! 💪Continue your workout routine and train for the Air Force Fitness Test—it’s required to remain in the program. For cadets under 25 years old, the fitness standards are as follows:

📝 Start Studying for the AFOQT 📝The Air Force Officer Qualification Test (AFOQT) is a standardized test that measures verbal and mathematical aptitude (similar to the SAT and ACT) as well as additional aptitudes relevant to specific career fields (e.g. pilot, combat systems officer, air battle manager, RPA). Per AFROTCI 36-2011 Vol 3, you must take your first AFOQT attempt no later than the end of your first AFROTC term. Cadets can access DAF approved study preparation materials at https://access.afpc.af.mil/pcsmdmz/Form%20T.HTML. Additionally, they may use any other materials related to the areas assessed by the AFOQT that are selected based on the general AFOQT taxonomy of content without knowledge of actual AFOQT content. Note: Examinees who have never taken the AFOQT may only participate in study sessions with other individuals who have not taken the AFOQT. |
